Around 2003, people started contacting me to help them make their tracks sound more polished and professional sounding. I never advertised this service, so I can only assume they liked the way my own tracks sounded, and that's what prompted them to contact me. Through solely word of mouth referrals, I've been lucky to work on over 400 releases as of 2008, so I figured it was time to let others know that I offer these services. While I in no way consider myself skilled enough to have earned the title of mastering engineer (yet), that seems to be the type of work people want the most, and the phrase "mastering" gets used no matter how many times I correct people. I hope those with many more years of experience in the art of mastering therefore do not take offense. I only want to help people get their tracks sounding as good as possible.
For those people interested in having me work on their tracks as well, you'll find some more info on the services I offer below, as well as my email address for any additional questions or to schedule work at the bottom of the page.
Pre-mastering (Mastering)
Mastering is $30 US per track, payable via paypal to Tarekith@Gmail.com. I ask that all artists be registered and verified with PayPal before contacting me about mastering or mixdown work, this saves hassle and frustration on both our ends. I can get you any format you want as part of that price, so wav and/or MP3 at any bitrate is no issue at all. Turnaround is usually only 1-2 days, if it's going to be longer for any reason (sometimes I get a lot of mastering jobs at once), I'll let you know before I take the job. You can use free online services like share-it.com, zshare.com, and yousendit.com to send the files to me, or I can set up a private FTP link for you.
I prefer 24bit/44,100kHz or 96,000kHz wav or aiff files to master, though I can do work on other formats too if that's all you have. Please try and leave at least a measure of silence before and after the track if at all possible. Also try and make sure that you leave me 3-6dB of headroom (or more) to work with, though if the file is already rendered with less headroom, it shouldn't be an issue. If you used a compressor or limiter on the master channel of the DAW when rendering the song, please let me know, as I may ask for versions of the song with and without this. Please include your name and the track name in the wav file when you send it to me, I get too many wav files called "RenderedFinal.wav", or "Track1.wav". Usually something like "Your Name - Track Name.wav" works best, thanks.
When I have the track mastered, I'll send you an email asking for payment, and once I get the PayPal confirmation, I'll send you a link to download the mastered song. This link will only be good for 3 days. If you'd like me to make any changes to the mastering, I'll do them for free within 7 days, after that I have to charge you a small fee to remaster. This does not apply if you change the file you sent me, i.e. you redo the mixdown. That requires starting over from scratch, and the full mastering rate will apply again.
Mixdowns
I offer mixdown services starting at $100 a song, this rate can increase based on the complexity of the song, and the number of tracks in the song. I usually discuss the project with the artist before taking on any mixdown work, so the exact price will be known before I start. Typically I will ask the artist to export each track in the song with and without any effects they may have applied already, as this gives me the most amount of freedom when doing the mixdown.
